BAY DISTRICT SCHOOLS TITLE: School Bus Driver JOB DESCRIPTION QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Minimum age of 21 years in accordance with school district transportation employment qualifications. 2. High School Diploma or GED equivalent or must obtain within 3 years of employment 3. Five (5) years of licensed driving experience 4. Valid Class B Commercial Driver License with proper endorsements 5. Demonstrates ability to safely operate the type and size vehicle to be assigned 6. Demonstrates knowledge of all requirements of school bus drivers as prescribed by State Traffic Laws and Regulations of the State Board and District School Board 7. Demonstrates written and oral communication skills 8. Successful completion of the Florida bus driver training program as prescribed in Florida Statutes and be issued a school bus drivers license 9. Successful completion of the initial and random alcohol and drug testing PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: MEDIUM WORK ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Light Work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 15 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects. Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects. Knows and observes all federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to transportation of students 2. Meets all requirements for recertification as required by Florida Statutes 3. Maintains order and discipline under the direction of school principal(s) 4. Instructs all passengers in safe rules for boarding, riding and departing buses 5.
