Job Requirements Job Title: Senior Research Engineer, Machine Learning Location: San Jose, CA (Onsite) Duration: 6 months to start (extendable up to 18 months)
Responsibilities
· Investigate machine and statistical learning systems and algorithms, including reinforcement learning, in various applications with greater focus on areas related to information communication, storage and computing) technologies · Support new technology and research initiatives and implement leading-edge proofs of concept following best practices · Lead and contribute to papers and patents as primarily research deliverables · Be a “T”: i.e., with broad knowledge and interest in a large variety of research domains while at the same time depth in at least one particular domain. · Keep pace with advances in one or more broad areas (e.g., LLMs, AI for science, RL for design exploration, etc.), while focusing more deeply on critical research questions. · Collaborate with in-house and academic researchers focused on applications of reinforcement learning and other machine learning technologies in various fields, including computing, micro-architecture, chip, device and materials design. · Collaborate with management to communicate complex ideas in various internal and external forums. · Test ideas and share results effectively, both orally and in writing
Qualifications
· PhD in one of electrical engineering, computer science, physics or mathematics with a strong background in statistics · Existing publication record in ML/SL/AI conferences or journals. · Proven solid background in research, software and system engineering · Good understanding of tools of trade and implementation of machine learning systems
