Affordable Housing Leasing Agent Location: Long Island City, NY Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm Position Overview Our client is seeking an Affordable Housing Leasing Agent to assist with apartment leasing, applicant screening, and resident placement across residential properties in NYC. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential leasing, affordable housing programs, and application processing.
Responsibilities
- Assist prospective residents with apartment inquiries, applications, and leasing procedures.
- Review applicant documentation and verify eligibility based on housing program requirements.
- Coordinate apartment tours, follow-ups, and lease signings.
- Maintain accurate applicant records and track application progress.
- Support affordable housing lotteries, property marketing, and leasing activities.
- Collaborate with property management and compliance teams to ensure a smooth application process.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in affordable housing, residential leasing, or property management.
- Familiarity with affordable housing programs such as LIHTC or Section 8.
- Knowledge of NYC Housing Connect and housing lottery procedures preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Yardi is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- NYS Real Estate Salesperson License preferred, or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to manage multiple applications and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel to NYC properties and work occasional weekends as needed.
