The Learning Experience – Middletown, NY Job Type: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Love Working With Toddlers? We'd Love to Meet You!
Are you a passionate, creative, and nurturing early childhood educator who loves helping little learners discover the world around them?
The Learning Experience of Middletown is looking for an enthusiastic Lead Toddler Teacher to join our team!
Our toddler classroom serves children approximately 18–24 months old - an exciting age filled with first words, big emotions, growing independence, endless curiosity, and incredible developmental milestones!
We're looking for someone who understands that teaching toddlers is about so much more than supervising playtime. It's about turning everyday moments into meaningful learning experiences, celebrating the little victories, and building the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
If you love getting messy with art projects, singing silly songs, encouraging tiny accomplishments, and watching children grow in confidence each day, this might be the perfect classroom for you!
What You'll Do
As our Lead Toddler Teacher, you'll take the lead in creating a classroom where children feel safe, loved, encouraged, and excited to explore!
• Make learning fun! Plan and lead engaging, hands-on activities including art, sensory play, music and movement, circle time, early literacy, and creative exploration.
• Celebrate every milestone! Support language development, motor skills, problem-solving, independence, and social-emotional growth.
• Create a classroom that inspires! Maintain a warm, organized, and stimulating environment designed around the unique needs of young toddlers.
• Guide growing personalities! Help children navigate big emotions, develop friendships, practice sharing, and build confidence using positive, age-appropriate guidance.
• Encourage independence! Turn everyday routines like mealtimes, handwashing, and transitions into opportunities for learning and growth.
• Build meaningful relationships! Connect with children and families through nurturing interactions, open communication, and celebrating each child's progress.
• Lead with confidence! Collaborate with and support Assistant Teachers to create a positive, productive classroom environment.
• Support every learner! Observe children's development, document milestones, and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
• Keep little learners safe! Maintain active supervision, assist with daily caregiving routines, and follow all licensing, health, and safety requirements.
• Be part of our school community! Participate in team meetings, professional development, training, and school events.
What We're Looking For
We're searching for an educator who brings patience, creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for toddlers into the classroom every day!
Candidates must meet at least one of the following educational requirements:
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
- Currently enrolled in an Early Childhood Education program
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education
Previous experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare center, early learning center, or similar group setting is strongly preferred.
Our ideal candidate is someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for early childhood education and toddler development.
- Is nurturing, patient, dependable, and energetic.
- Enjoys planning creative activities and making learning exciting.
- Has strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Takes initiative and feels confident leading a classroom.
- Works well with other teachers and values teamwork.
- Understands that every child develops at their own pace.
- Is excited to learn, grow, and continue developing professionally.
