JOB DESCRIPTION: This position uses past knowledge of various mechanical systems to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment ranging from toilet, to forklifts, to motor wiring for a crane, while using shop drawings and schematics. This position is responsible to work at a pace that continually keeps work moving through the system and ensures the promised ship dates are met. This position must use knowledge of past projects to problem solve issues, assist others in problem solving, and train new employees to be proficient in their respective positions. This position is responsible for ground keeping including mowing the grass by safely and efficiently operating a riding lawn mower using the necessary and required PPE. This position assists with projects involving landscaping, lawn maintenance, grounds keeping, and other such projects that are relevant to custodial and janitorial duties
This position must be able to effectively communicate with employees and supervisors. This position is responsible for ensuring production goals and quality standards are met on a continual basis from one product to the next. This position is responsible for properly adhering to Company policies and complying with required standards for work orders and labor laws within the department on a continual basis from one project to the next and one employee to the next.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively work at a safe and productive pace while keeping up with the work load
- Properly follow instructions when received in both written and verbal format
- Efficiently work by the priority list
- Follow all safety rules at all times
- Make quality repairs to all equipment being repaired and/or maintained
- Work overtime when necessary/required and with short notice
- Work in all weather conditions as job requires working inside and outside through the course of a single shift
- Work in the natural element of heat and cold (production facility is not heated in winter nor cooled in summer)
- Other duties as assigned by management

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work scheduled shifts
- Ability to bend, stoop, sit, grasp with hands, feel texture with fingers, cling, walk, twist, stand, and work on concrete for up to twelve hours per day up to six (6) days per week
- Must be able to work at heights of greater than 6 feet on a regular basis/as work dictates
- Ability to work overtime when necessary/required and with short notice
- Ability to work in all weather conditions as job requires working inside and outside through the course of a single shift
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Properly and accurately read a tape measure down to 1/16”
- Forklift maintenance background/experience (10+ years preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years background in all facets of maintenance work (mfg preferred)
- Above average attendance record and remain consistently punctual
- Effectively follow direction when received in written and verbal format
- Work schedule shifts
- Accurately read basic blue prints and schematics
- Must possess a current and valid driver’s license
- Cannot be considered a high risk driver per our Company requirements
- Must be able to work alone without constant supervision
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must show the ability to be punctual and follow all Company Safety and personnel policy directives while on the job.
- Holds basic knowledge of electrical, pneumatics and hydraulics, reading schematics and prints, as well as tape measures and other measuring devices.
- Has a valid South Carolina Driver License and meet Company’s Authorized Drivers Policy and Insurance Requirements.
- Demonstrates safe operation of hand, air powered and electrical tools.
- Possesses good time management skills.
- Cooperates in working extra hours, if needed.
- Machine shop skills are a plus, but not required.
