Robert Half Legal is partnering with a mid-sized boutique IP law firm in Chicago who is seeking to hire a Trademark Paralegal with at least 2-3+ years of experience. The Trademark Paralegal will support attorneys and clients in managing domestic and international trademark portfolios, maintaining critical deadlines, and assisting with all aspects of trademark prosecution, filings, and portfolio management. The firm offers a highly flexible hybrid WFH schedule and competitive compensation package.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, file, and maintain U.S. trademark applications and related prosecution documents with the USPTO.
- Assist attorneys with domestic and international trademark clearance, registration, maintenance, and enforcement matters.
- Prepare and file trademark renewals, declarations of use, assignments, ownership changes, and other post-registration documents.
- Draft routine correspondence with clients, foreign associates, and trademark offices.
- Monitor and maintain trademark docketing systems, ensuring all deadlines and filing requirements are accurately tracked and met.
- Review USPTO correspondence and assist in preparing responses to office actions and examiner inquiries.
- Coordinate and manage foreign trademark filings and communications with international counsel.
- Prepare status reports and portfolio summaries for clients.
- Conduct trademark searches and assist with preliminary analyses and reporting.
- Maintain electronic and physical trademark files and documentation.
- Support attorneys with opposition, cancellation, and enforcement matters before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).
- Process invoices and assist with trademark-related billing and reporting as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $60,000 - $85,000+
- Annual discretionary bonus

Qualifications:
- 2-3+ years of trademark paralegal experience, preferably within a law firm or intellectual property practice.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. trademark prosecution procedures and USPTO filing requirements.
- Experience handling international trademark filings and global trademark portfolio management preferred.
- Familiarity with trademark docketing systems and IP management software.
- Proficiency with USPTO electronic filing systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or paralegal certificate preferred.
