About the Company Our client is a supportive, close-knit firm with a modern, 100% cloud-based infrastructure-having successfully eliminated all on-premises applications. As our client continues to invest heavily in their technology stack (including advanced Microsoft security, new SD-WAN, and upgraded network hardware), they are looking for an IT professional who shares their people-first values to support the daily technology needs of their staff.
The Role Working directly with our client's IT Director, you will be the face of IT for their San Luis Obispo headquarters. In this role, you will provide stellar Tier 1 Windows customer support in a service desk environment, while simultaneously leveraging very strong Tier 2 systems administration skills to manage their modern, purely cloud-based Microsoft Entra ID environment.
Please note: This role requires 100% onsite presence during the 6-month contract and initial conversion period. After one year of total employment (6 months contract + 6 months full-time), a 1-day-per-week work-from-home schedule may be earned.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily User Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee IT requests in a service desk environment, providing fast, patient, and white-glove service for a predominantly Windows 11 endpoint environment.
- Systems Administration & Tooling: Administer and monitor core IT and security platforms, taking responsibility for daily operations within Intune, Ninja RMM, Freshservice, SentinelOne, and Huntress.
- Identity & Access Management: Manage user accounts, onboarding, and offboarding within their newly migrated Microsoft Entra ID environment, utilizing Temporary Access Pass (TAP) codes and enforcing modern MFA (Authenticator App, Windows Hello for Business, FIDO2/YubiKeys).
- Project Delivery: Assist IT leadership with immediate, high-priority rollouts, including upcoming Teams Phone implementations, File Services migrations, and the deployment of new office routers, firewalls, and SD-WAN hardware.
- Cloud Administration: Support their Microsoft 365 environment and assist in maintaining their high security posture using Entra ID. (Note: Our client has successfully defederated from third-party IDPs, so all management is native to Microsoft).
- Hardware & Peripheral Management: Provision, troubleshoot, and maintain corporate laptops and peripherals (minimal Mac support required).

- Local Presence & Onsite Commitment: Must be located in or immediately around San Luis Obispo, CA for onsite support, with the understanding that remote work must be earned after one year of total tenure.
- Targeted Technical Acumen: Stellar Tier 1 customer support experience paired with very strong Tier 2 systems administration skills. You must have proven, hands-on experience with Windows 11, Microsoft 365 / Entra ID, Intune, Ninja RMM, Freshservice, and advanced endpoint security tools (SentinelOne, Huntress).
