About the Role
PrideStaff is seeking a skilled Machine Builder – Weld Fabricator (Masterbuilder) in Cincinnati, Ohio. In this position, you will work directly with a Lead Masterbuilder to build, cut, fabricate, and weld precision components for industrial machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Job Layout & Assembly: Read blueprints, cut and assemble steel parts, and perform pipe welding and sheet metal fabrication.
- Welding Operations: Weld mild and stainless steel using MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate manufacturing equipment including welders, drill presses, hand drills, grinders, sanders, hand-held and stationary abrasive saws, band saws, shears, plasma cutters, oxygen & cutting torches, cranes, fork trucks, sump pumps, and rolls.
- Quality & Safety Compliance: Follow practices defined in the Quality Management System, perform quality checks on work, maintain high standards of accuracy, and report any unsafe conditions or quality issues to management.
- Shop Maintenance & Team Collaboration: Maintain a clean and organized work area, assist fellow team members as needed, and complete additional duties as directed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of industrial welding, blueprint reading, and fabrication experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding on mild and stainless steel.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, regarding work progress, technical issues, and job completion.
- Mathematical & Reasoning Abilities: Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and troubleshoot work process issues to identify effective solutions.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for prolonged periods on concrete floors; kneel, squat, stoop, recline, climb, crawl, and bend as needed; and adjust visual focus.
- Lifting Ability: Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs unassisted, and over 70 lbs with the assistance of a lifting device.
- Work Environment: Traditional shop environment with seasonal temperature variances and loud noise levels; exposure to fumes/smells associated with metal fabrication.
- Schedule: Standard shifts with potential 2nd or 3rd shift assignments; must be available for extended overtime (up to 50–60 hours/week) as required.
- Safety Equipment: Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety devices. Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $21.00 - $25.00
