Material Handler Job Description:

PrideStaff is working with a manufacturing facility in search of a dependable 3rd Shift Material Handler. The Material Handler will support production operations by ensuring materials, supplies, and parts are delivered efficiently throughout the facility. This hands-on role includes moving materials, operating forklifts and overhead cranes, assisting with shop organization and scrap removal, and supporting production processes as needed. The ideal Material Handler is safety-minded, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Material Handler is a full-time, direct hire position.

Material Handler Job Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Primary Material Handling Resource for Production Operators and Leads
• Support Production Operations by Constantly Ensuring Machine Operators Have Necessary Parts and Materials
• Transport Parts in Bins, Pallets, and Containers Between Machines, Storage Areas, and Inventory
• Operate Forklifts and Overhead Cranes Safely as Needed to Move Materials and Equipment
• Perform Forklift Safety Checks, Inspections, and Routine Minor Maintenance
• Empty Scrap Bins and Coordinate Scrap Removal Throughout the Production Shop
• Assist with Direct Production Needs, Including Machine Operation, Part Testing, Part Washing, and Material Transfers
• Check and Document Coolant Levels and Concentrations Accurately
• Maintain Facility Cleanliness, Organize Shop Workspaces, and Keep Supplies Fully Stocked
• Adhere to All Shop Safety Protocols, OSHA Standards, and PPE Requirements at All Times
• Perform Other Material Handling and Production Support Duties as Assigned

Material Handler Job Requirements & Working Conditions:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent Required
• Formal Forklift and Overhead Crane Training or Certification Required
• 1+ Years of Material Handling, Shipping, or Receiving Experience in a Lean Manufacturing Environment
• Solid Familiarity with Production and Shop Floor Operations
• Strong Problem-Solving Skills with the Ability to Identify Improvement Opportunities
• Ability to Prioritize Needs, Manage Multiple Concurrent Tasks, and Meet Strict Deadlines
• Strong Communication Skills to Collaborate Effectively Across All Facility Levels
• Basic Computer Literacy for Accurate Documentation and Record Keeping
• Working Knowledge of OSHA Regulations and Safety Standards Preferred
• Ability to Work in a Loud, Fast-Paced Industrial Warehouse and Manufacturing Environment
• Physical Ability to Regularly Stand, Walk, Stoop, Kneel, Crouch, and Safely Lift/Move up to 50 lbs
