LHH is partnering with a growing organization in the San Diego area to identify an experienced Senior Accountant to join its accounting team.
This is a great opportunity for an accountant who enjoys being hands-on with the numbers but also wants broader exposure and the ability to make an impact. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting while partnering with leadership on process improvements and special projects.
This role could be a strong fit for someone who has built a solid foundation in accounting and is ready for increased ownership, visibility, and continued career growth.
What You'll Be Doing
- Take ownership of key areas of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting
- Perform balance sheet and general ledger account analysis
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as needed
- Assist with external audits and preparation of supporting documentation
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies
- Support special projects and additional accounting initiatives as the organization continues to grow
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
- Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills, including experience working with large data sets
- Experience with an ERP or major accounting system
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
Why Consider This Opportunity?
- High-visibility role with exposure to accounting and finance leadership
- Opportunity to take ownership rather than simply process transactions
- Variety of responsibilities and projects
- Ability to help improve processes and build efficiencies
- Collaborative team environment
- Opportunity for continued professional growth and advancement
If you're a Senior Accountant who enjoys digging into the numbers, solving problems, and taking ownership of your work, we'd love to connect.
