Kforce has a client that is seeking a full-time, permanent Accounting Specialist. This role will be fully onsite in Beltsville, MD.
Summary:
Our client is seeking an Accounting Specialist to support daily accounting operations. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys varied responsibilities, takes ownership of their work, and collaborates well within a small team.
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable, review invoices, prepare payments, and reconcile vendor accounts
- Accounting Specialist will support customer billing, accounts receivable, and collections
- Record cash receipts and deposits, investigate discrepancies, and reconcile balances
- Prepare general ledger reconciliations and assist with month-end close and reporting
- As an Accounting Specialist, you will cross-train on payroll and other accounting functions to provide backup support
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred; Equivalent experience considered
- Three or more years of experience supporting multiple accounting functions
- Experience using accounting software or ERP systems
- Working knowledge of AP, AR, cash transactions, and reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills, including lookup formulas, SUMIF, and pivot tables
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and work comfortably with manual accounting processes
- This position requires daily onsite attendance
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
