Build the plan that keeps our manufacturing network moving.
We’re looking for a Master Production Planner who enjoys turning complex demand, capacity, inventory, and supply information into a clear production plan.
In this highly visible role, you’ll help coordinate production volumes across multiple manufacturing locations, anticipate capacity constraints, and develop plans that keep products moving during peak demand, planned shutdowns, and periods of limited supply.
You’ll also partner across Procurement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other teams to balance customer demand, production capacity, inventory, service levels, and cost.
If you’re an analytical supply chain professional who understands manufacturing and enjoys solving complex planning challenges, this is an opportunity to make an impact across the broader manufacturing network.
What You’ll Do
As our Master Production Planner, you will:
- Develop rough-cut capacity plans and monthly production volume recommendations across plant locations.
- Assess available production hours, line capacity, yields, curtailments, and planned shutdowns.
- Analyze inventory levels alongside forecasted shipments and demand to determine required production.
- Develop production strategies for peak seasons, extended shutdowns, capacity constraints, and periods of limited supply.
- Coordinate stock transport orders between plants to help maintain product availability across the manufacturing network.
- Run capacity, manufacturing, distribution, site-location, and cost scenarios to support informed supply chain decisions.
- Monitor and support approval of out-of-pattern shipments.
- Manage purchasing forecasts for key suppliers to help optimize inventory and service levels.
- Create purchase orders in SAP for raw materials and trade goods.
- Partner with manufacturing locations and cross-functional teams to identify constraints, evaluate options, and keep production aligned with business needs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 1 year of experience in production planning, procurement, or order management.
- Equivalent combinations of education and applicable production planning or order management experience will be considered.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across multiple variables, including capacity, inventory, demand, and supply.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across multiple functions and manufacturing locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a manufacturing or multi-site production environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing locations and production operations.
- Experience with capacity planning, inventory planning, production scheduling, procurement, or supply chain optimization.
Why This Role Stands Out
This isn’t simply a scheduling role. You’ll have the opportunity to look across a manufacturing network and help answer important operational questions:
What should we produce, where should we produce it, and when do we need it to meet demand while managing inventory and cost?
Your recommendations will help the organization anticipate constraints before they become problems, respond to changing demand, optimize inventory, and keep products moving when capacity is tight.
