Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years experience as a Business Systems Analyst in complex technology environments
- Hands-on experience delivering a large platform migration, system conversion or platform implementation
- Strong experience translating business requirements into system/technical requirements.
- Experience with systems analysis, data mapping/conversion, process mapping, workflow analysis, and/or source-to-target mapping.
- Ability to assess current-state functionality and determine how requirements should be supported in a new platform.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- 4+ years in the healthcare industry (ideally MCO, payor, managed care space)
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive work forward with limited direction.
- Comfortable operating as a hands-on individual contributor, not solely in an oversight or leadership capacity.
- Seeking a contract-to-hire opportunity with eventual full-time conversion.

Job Description
A healthcare payer client is seeking a hands-on Senior Business Systems Analyst to support a large-scale, multi-year healthcare platform transformation. This role will analyze current-state systems and processes, translate business needs into system and functional requirements, and help define future-state solutions as the organization transitions to a new platform. This is not a traditional BA role. The ideal candidate has direct experience with major system migrations, implementations, or data conversions and can independently bridge business requirements with technical execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify gaps, dependencies, risks, and opportunities to improve or redesign legacy processes.
- Independently investigate issues and present solution options, tradeoffs, and recommendations.
- Analyze current-state systems, workflows, processes, and system logic to define future-state requirements.
- Translate business needs into detailed system and functional requirements for technical teams.
- Perform data mapping, conversion analysis, source-to-target mapping, and fit-gap analysis.
- Develop process flows, system diagrams, workflows, and requirements documentation.
- Partner with business stakeholders, architects, technical teams, and implementation partners.
- Remain hands-on in the detailed analysis and documentation throughout the transformation.
