Audit Manager
Location: Ridgeland, MS
Overview
A large national accounting and advisory firm is seeking an Assurance Manager in the Jackson, Mississippi area (Ridgeland). You will supervise, direct and review audit work through planning, fieldwork and wrap-up, and take part in marketing, networking and business development.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the audit team, review workpapers and conclusions and provide on-the-job training
- Assess internal control over financial reporting and recommend improvements
- Advise clients on new accounting pronouncements and draft complex financial statements and disclosures
- Review SEC filings and Section 404 internal control work where applicable
- Plan and oversee the audit process with quality and efficiency
- Prepare required communications to management and audit committees
- Supervise, schedule and coach associates and senior associates
- Manage engagement profitability, billings and collections
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics preferred); Master's in Accountancy preferred
- 5+ years of relevant audit or public accounting experience
- Significant prior supervisory experience
- Active US CPA license required
- Sound GAAP and GAAS knowledge; familiarity with SEC and PCAOB rules
