Summary We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a part-time bus driver at the District Office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting students, staff, and other passengers safely and efficiently to designated locations. This role requires excellent driving skills, a commitment to safety, and a friendly demeanor to ensure a positive experience for all passengers.
Responsibilities
- Operate a school bus or designated vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Transport students and staff to and from school, extracurricular activities, and special events as scheduled.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment, ensuring passenger comfort and safety.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation schedules and any changes.
- Monitor passenger behavior and enforce safety rules to ensure a safe travel environment.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or vehicle malfunctions to the appropriate authorities.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay updated on safety protocols and regulations.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport.
- Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents in the past three years.
- Previous experience driving a bus or similar vehicle is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with passengers of all ages.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as mandated by school district policies.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, afternoons, and occasional evenings or weekends.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all passengers.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus, but training will be provided if necessary.
