A Material Handler regularly performs routine to moderately advanced production activities to maintain the flow of work under limited supervision. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Transport, load, unload, and store steel coils in appropriate locations using a Crane. Inspect and assist in packaging coils as needed and manage scrap. Completes required paperwork/system input for each product. Maintain a clean work environment by keeping work area free of trash and scrap. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Basic reading and writing comprehension in English (to read work order instructions, safety, and policy manuals); ability to read a tape measure.
- Proficient in basic math and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow and give instructions.
- Basic problem-solving skills.
- Solid communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Ability to work closely with others in a team environment
- Work authorization: United States (Required)
- High School or equivalent.
Experience & Education:
- High school or equivalent
- Experience using ERP system
- Crane Operator certification required.
- Prior metals experience preferred.
The starting rate for this position is $19.00. The actual starting pay will be determined based on factors including relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
