Job Title: Yard Spotter Operator Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dependable Yard Spotter Operator to support daily operations in a fast-paced production environment. This position will be responsible for moving and positioning trailers throughout the yard, backing trailers into designated areas, and keeping trailer traffic organized to support production and shipping operations. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, around trucks and heavy equipment, and in changing weather conditions.Pay: $14 - $16/hr Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM Must be comfortable working up to 13 days straight during peak shelling season.
Responsibilities
- Operate a yard spotter truck to move and position trailers throughout the facility.
- Back trailers safely into loading, unloading, and designated parking areas.
- Move empty and loaded trailers as needed to support production and shipping.
- Safely maneuver around employees, trucks, equipment, buildings, and other vehicles.
- Perform basic pre-shift inspections and report any mechanical or safety concerns.
- Keep the yard organized and ensure trailers are placed in the correct locations.
- Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding trailer needs and movement.
- Follow all company safety procedures while operating equipment.
- Assist with general yard or facility cleanup when needed.
- Work efficiently to keep trailers moving and prevent delays in operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous yard spotter, yard jockey, hostler, or similar truck-driving experience preferred.
- Must be comfortable backing and maneuvering trailers in tight or busy areas.
- Ability to safely operate equipment around other vehicles, employees, and machinery.
- Comfortable working outdoors in changing temperatures and weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, overtime, and extended schedules during peak season.
- Dependable attendance and ability to follow safety procedures are required.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smithville, GA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $14.00 - $20.00/hr.
