Position Overview Zoom Drain is looking for a motivated, hardworking individual to join our team as a Drain Technician Apprentice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in learning a skilled trade and building a long-term career in the drain and sewer industry. As an apprentice, you will work alongside an experienced Drain Technician, learning the tools, techniques, and skills necessary to eventually advance into a full Drain Technician role. This is a physically demanding, labor-intensive position that requires a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a variety of environments and conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced Drain Technicians with residential and commercial drain and sewer service calls.
- Learn to safely operate and maintain drain-cleaning equipment, including drain snakes, sewer cameras, electronic locators, and hydrojetters.
- Assist with diagnosing and resolving drain and sewer issues.
- Help set up, transport, clean, and maintain equipment and work areas.
- Learn proper techniques for clearing clogged drains and performing sewer line services.
- Assist with job-site preparation, cleanup, and customer communication.
- Follow all company safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.
- Develop the technical knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to become an independent Drain Technician.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying equipment, bending, kneeling, and working in confined or dirty environments.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
- Previous plumbing, construction, mechanical, or trade experience is a plus, but not required.
