This job was posted by https://www.azjobconnection.gov : For more information, please see: https://www.azjobconnection.gov/jobs/7646341 Purpose Statement\ The job of Dispatcher is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the educational process with specific responsibilities for designating vehicles; developing routes; processing service requests pertaining to routine and emergency maintenance issues; maintaining department records in accordance with mandated requirements; and coordinating assigned projects.\ \ Essential Functions - Compiles a variety of data (e.g. write ups, field trips, counts, etc.) for the purpose of developing formal reports, conveying information and complying with mandated requirements. - Coordinates with District personnel in developing routes and schedules (e.g. workload, special trips, Exceptional Student Services Administrators, etc.) for the purpose of determining driver and equipment requirements. - Distributes bus keys for the purpose of ensuring keys are secure and used by authorized personnel only. - Informs school personnel and parents of practices (e.g. rules, regulations, laws, etc.) for the purpose of providing information for their follow-up action. - Participates in unit meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. as required (e.g. Safety meetings, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions. - Performs functions of a school bus driver for the purpose of meeting the district\'s transportation service needs. - Processes a variety of materials (e.g. service orders, route changes, etc.) for the purpose of updating and distributing information, authorizing action and/or complying with mandated requirements. - Responds to inquiries from students, parents, and/or staff (e.g. stop locations, schedule, state regulated policies, etc.) for the purpose of providing the necessary information regarding transportation services. - Responds to injuries and/or accidents for the purpose of complying with established policies and regulatory guidelines. - Routes and/or reroutes busses for the purpose of ensuring safe and efficient transportation for students. - Schedules work assignments (e.g. regular routes, field trips, sporting events, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring completion of transportation routes and trips in a timely manner. - Secures substitute drivers for the purpose of ensuring all routes are covered. Other Functions - Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
