About Us
At Workout Anytime Dumfries, our mission is to empower our members to live stronger, healthier lives through structured, results-driven coaching. We pride ourselves on a welcoming community, evidence-based training methods, and an environment where fitness professionals can build long-term careers.
We are expanding our Personal Training department and looking for energetic, client-focused coaches to join our team.
The Role
As a Personal Trainer, you will work directly with members to assess baseline movement, identify goals, and guide them through safe, effective exercise programming. Whether you are an experienced certified trainer or someone with strong movement foundations looking to break into the industry, we provide the mentorship, client leads, and operational structure to help you build a full client roster.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial fitness assessments, movement screens, and goal-setting consultations for new and existing gym members.
- Design and deliver customized, safe, and progressive 1-on-1 and small-group training programs.
- Teach proper exercise mechanics, cueing adjustments to accommodate injuries, limitations, or experience levels.
- Track client metrics, workout logs, and program adherence to ensure consistent progress.
- Maintain an active presence on the fitness floor to build relationships, offer technique tips, and convert prospects into training clients.
- Ensure training floor safety, equipment cleanliness, and adherence to facility standards.
What We Are Looking For
• Certifications: An accredited personal training certification (NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent) is preferred. Don’t have one yet? If you have an athletic background, a strong work ethic, and great communication skills, we offer an in-house development pathway to help the right candidate get certified.
• Credentials: Current CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain one prior to training clients).
• Skills & Personality: High emotional intelligence, punctuality, reliable self-discipline, and an approachable coaching style.
• Availability: Flexibility to work peak training hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekend blocks.
What We Offer
• Competitive Earning Potential: Base floor pay, commission per completed session, and tiered bonuses as your roster grows.
• Internal Education & Mentorship: Hands-on coach development covering program design, movement assessments, and consultative sales.
• Client Pipeline: Direct access to new gym members and floor leads - no cold outreach required.
• Facility Perks: Complimentary full gym membership, guest privileges, and discounts on facility amenities/merchandise.
• Career Growth: Opportunities to advance into Lead Trainer, Fitness Director, or Club Management roles.
