Work Location: In-person role based in Windham, NY.
Seasonal Position: This role is available for the winter season. Full Time and Part Time Positions available!
Pay: $22-$25 per hour based on experience
Anticipated Start Dates: December 15th through December 20th This start date is weather dependent
Schedule: May require working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Conditions: Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, sleet, snow, hail, wind, and cold temperatures.
Overview of Position:
The Lead Ski Lift Operator supports the safe and efficient operation of ski lifts while providing leadership to Lift Operators. This role assists with training, daily oversight, guest service, and safety compliance to ensure a positive experience for guests and team members alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily lift operations and ensure safety standards are followed.
- Support, train, and mentor Lift Operators.
- Assign positions and coordinate breaks during shifts.
- Assist guests with safe loading and unloading.
- Monitor lift lines and operations for safety and efficiency.
- Respond to guest concerns, lift stoppages, and operational issues.
- Conduct routine inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Communicate with Ski Patrol, Maintenance, and management as needed.
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold company standards.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Minimum of 2 years of ski lift operations experience required.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful or emergency situations.
- CPR/First Aid certification and skiing/snowboarding experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Walk and work safely on uneven, snow- and ice-covered terrain.
- Work outdoors in winter conditions for up to 8 hours per day.
- Regularly push, pull, stoop, kneel, and reach.
