General Description Under the direction of the Housekeeping / Laundry Supervisor, the Laundry Aide is responsible for ensuring Facility linen and resident’s personal clothing are properly collected, sorted, laundered, distributed and/or stored according to Company policy. Essential Duties
- Demonstrates ability to adjust to changes in shift assignments to meet Facility needs.
- Handles all laundry in accordance with sanitary guidelines.
- Sorts all soiled laundry into appropriate categories. Lifts and carries loads of laundry to / from cleaning equipment.
- Washes, dries, folds, and hangs all laundry neatly and properly.
- Identifies personal laundry with resident’s name and re-marks personal clothing items, as needed.
- Returns clean resident laundry to appropriate rooms and supply areas.
- Cleans dryer filters every 2 (two) hours, keeps laundry area clean, machines dusted, and floor mopped weekly.
- Works in cooperation with other employees of the Facility to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for both residents and staff.
- .Interacts with residents and family members, co-workers, clinical and ancillary staff in a non-judgmental, supportive and calm manner.
- Addresses family satisfaction issues immediately by reporting them to the Supervisor in a professional manner.
- Participates as assigned in the orientation of new staff and demonstrates a positive, helpful, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Performs Housekeeper duties as needed.
