Our Opportunity:
Cumulus Minneapolis is seeking an experienced Program Director with multi-format experience, preferably in Classic Rock and AC Oldies. This position includes daily programming of heritage Classic Rock station - KQRS – as well as oversite of Love 105. Cumulus Minneapolis has the tools and support team in place to execute the game plan for success; we need YOU to help craft our cluster’s future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the market manager, business manager and engineer to ensure smooth operation of the cluster
- Create operational strategies with cluster programmers to maximize station ratings and revenue
- Work with programming/talent to create and deliver unique content that attracts the target demo, builds ratings
- Work closely with marketing team to develop contests, promotions and large-scale events
- Work collaboratively with the sales team to develop and enhance client relationships and revenue
- Ensure operation of the stations in accordance with FCC regulations and policies
- Create, implement, and manage the overall sound of 92 KQRS
- Design the imaging, music, brand, and standards of KQRS through all distribution channels
- Operate (as needed) control board, remote broadcasting and other related production equipment as well as music scheduling software
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years’ of successful programming experience in a PPM market preferred
- Strong social and digital experience
- Savvy computer skills and proficiency with research and music scheduling
- Ability to multi-task and the discipline to focus on what is the highest and best use of your time
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with air staff, departments and clients
- Creative and strategic problem solver
- A strong understanding of PPM / Nielsen Ratings and ability to interpret various kinds of research
- Deep knowledge of music, pop culture and current events and how they relate to each station’s target demo
