Employer: Walther Farms LLC Job Title: Mechanical Engineers Job Location: 5545 Wilsie Rd., Cass City, MI 48726 Job Duties: Responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing mechanical systems and automated technologies to support efficient, safe, and reliable operations within a large-scale agricultural storage and irrigation environment. Specific duties include: (1) Monitoring and calibrating mechanical equipment and technology throughout automated potato storage facility system using sophisticated sensor technology; (2) Installing and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment throughout storage facility including automated computer systems, Variable Frequency Drives ("VFD"), actuators, and automated sensors; (3) Monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining mechanical center-pivot irrigation system, including installing and calibrating VFD components and microswitches, rebuilding and adjusting computer control panels, and maintaining automatic telemetry equipment, to ensure proper voltage and equipment functionality; (4) Making recommendations to modernize various equipment and technologies, including identifying and creating new systems and evaluating our equipment needs to improve profitability, quality control, environmental protection, and employee/food safety; (5) Maintaining detailed inspection reports; (6) Monitoring all alerts in automatic computer systems and communicating results to management.
