Job Summary Provide academic support to elementary school students, working one-on-one and with small groups. Assist the classroom teacher with both academic and behavioral needs. This position begins at 7:40 AM to 2:45 PM, with the potential for additional hours on school breaks and summers. Job Description / Essential Elements Instructional Assistants provide direct instruction of student under direct supervision of the classroom teacher. Assistants will conduct instructional activities assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing learning concepts. Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, and
- Two years of college (48 units), or or pass local assessment of knowledge and skills (within first year of employment).
- All chosen applicants must successfully pass a background check and fingerprint clearance prior to employment.

Background to include activities that involve students and an interest in working with school age children.
