Cleaner/Janitor VIP Cinemas | Part-Time | Overnight Shift

VIP Cinemas is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaner/Janitor to help maintain our theaters to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.
This position plays an important role in ensuring our theaters are clean, fresh, and ready to welcome guests each day. Working overnight after regular theater operations have concluded, you will focus on deep cleaning auditoriums, restrooms, lobbies, concession areas, and other areas throughout the facility.
Unlike routine cleaning performed during business hours, this position is focused on more thorough cleaning projects that can be completed when guests are not present. Your work will help restore the theater to established cleanliness standards, address areas that need extra attention, and prepare the entire facility for the next day's business.

Key Responsibilities
Overnight Deep Cleaning
- Perform thorough overnight cleaning of movie auditoriums to restore them to established company standards.
- Clean around, underneath, and between seats to remove popcorn, food debris, dust, and accumulated dirt.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, and scrub auditorium floors, aisles, and other flooring surfaces as appropriate.
- Spot-clean and detail-clean seats, cupholders, armrests, and other accessible seating surfaces using approved methods.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms thoroughly, including toilets, sinks, counters, mirrors, partitions, fixtures, and floors.
- Deep-clean lobby areas, hallways, entrances, and other common spaces.
- Clean glass doors, windows, mirrors, baseboards, corners, and other areas that may be missed during routine cleaning.
- Remove trash and debris throughout the building and replace liners as needed.
- Address built-up dirt, spills, stains, and other areas requiring additional attention.
- Complete assigned deep-cleaning projects and checklists before the theater opens for the next business day.
Floor Care & Detailed Cleaning
- Perform detailed floor cleaning, including scrubbing and other approved floor-care methods appropriate to the surface.
- Clean edges, corners, baseboards, and areas around fixtures and furniture.
- Use approved cleaning equipment to address dirt and buildup in high-traffic areas.
- Assist with periodic cleaning projects involving seating areas, walls, doors, and other interior surfaces.
- Identify areas requiring specialized cleaning or maintenance and notify theater management when additional attention is needed.
- Follow equipment instructions and approved procedures to prevent damage to flooring, seating, and theater fixtures.
Theater Readiness & Quality Standards
- Inspect assigned areas after cleaning to ensure work meets VIP Cinemas cleanliness expectations.
- Complete overnight cleaning assignments within the scheduled shift.
- Ensure auditoriums, restrooms, lobbies, and other guest areas are clean and ready for the next day's operations.
- Restock restroom supplies and other assigned cleaning materials.
- Report damaged seats, persistent stains, spills, leaks, odors, and other conditions that cannot be corrected through routine cleaning.
- Maintain cleaning checklists and communicate completed work or outstanding concerns to theater leadership.
Safety & Equipment Care
- Follow all company safety procedures and cleaning product instructions.
- Use cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment only as trained and authorized.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and storage areas in an orderly condition.
- Secure assigned areas and follow theater closing and overnight access procedures.
Teamwork & Accountability
- Work collaboratively with the General Manager, Shift Managers, and other theater employees to maintain consistent cleanliness standards.
- Communicate progress, supply needs, and facility concerns clearly.
- Take ownership of assigned areas and complete tasks thoroughly without requiring constant supervision.
- Prioritize cleaning tasks based on theater condition, operational needs, and management direction.
- Perform other reasonable cleaning and facility-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to completing assigned work.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean environment.
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours.
- Ability to follow cleaning procedures, instructions, and checklists.
- Willingness to learn proper use of cleaning equipment and products.
- Ability to manage time effectively and complete assignments within the scheduled shift.
- Availability to work overnight hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to communicate cleaning needs, safety concerns, and maintenance issues to management.
Previous janitorial, commercial cleaning, housekeeping, or custodial experience is preferred but not required. Experience with floor-care equipment and commercial deep-cleaning procedures is a plus.
Training will be provided on company cleaning standards, equipment, safety procedures, and theater-specific requirements.
Physical Requirements
The position may require:
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Bending, kneeling, reaching, and performing repetitive cleaning movements.
- Pushing cleaning carts and operating approved cleaning equipment.
- Lifting and carrying cleaning supplies, waste, and equipment within the requirements of the position.
- Working with approved cleaning chemicals and wearing required protective equipment.
- Safely operating floor-cleaning equipment after appropriate training.
