Village | Revenue Cycle Operations Why We're Building Village Getting specialty care for a child should be easier. Today, families face long waitlists, confusing insurance, and fragmented care. Providers face the other side of the same problem: unpredictable caseloads, endless paperwork, and administrative work that takes time away from the children they're trained to help. Village is building the modern healthcare system for specialty pediatric care for children, providers, and the families who love them. We help families find and coordinate developmental, behavioral, and therapy care, while giving providers the infrastructure to grow and run their practices. It takes a village, and we're building one. The Opportunity Insurance shouldn't be the reason a child has to wait for care. But for many families, understanding what's covered, what they'll owe, and what approvals they need can be one of the most frustrating parts of getting started. We're looking for a Financial Coordinator to help families navigate insurance with confidence, remove barriers to care, and get more children into treatment sooner. You'll work closely with our Care Navigation and Revenue Cycle teams to improve financial accuracy, resolve complex insurance questions, and help Village expand access to new patient populations, including HMO patients. This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to improve how we work as Village grows. What You'll Own Eligibility, Benefits & Financial Accuracy
- Verify eligibility and benefits, including coverage, network status, cost sharing, visit limits, and authorization requirements.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and resolve missing or incorrect demographic and insurance information to help prevent downstream denials.
- Work directly with payers and benefits verification partners to investigate discrepancies and confirm coverage.
Referrals, Authorizations & Patient Access
- Coordinate referrals and prior authorizations with insurance plans, medical groups, referring providers, and clinical teams.
- Track authorization approvals, expiration dates, and visit limits to help prevent interruptions in care.
- Help Village expand access to patients by navigating payer-specific referral, authorization, and financial clearance requirements.
Family Financial Experience & RCM Operations
- Help families understand their coverage, expected costs, and next steps in a clear, thoughtful, and compassionate way.
- Partner with Care Navigators to resolve financial questions and escalations, allowing them to spend more time supporting families.
- Identify recurring issues and work with Product and Engineering to improve accuracy, efficiency, and workflows as Village grows.
Who You Are
- Experienced in the front-end revenue cycle. You understand eligibility, benefits, cost estimates, referrals, and authorizations, and know how these pieces come together to help patients get into care.
- Comfortable navigating managed care. You know how to work through complex insurance requirements and find answers when the path isn't straightforward.
- Resourceful and proactive. You ask the right questions, investigate issues, and find solutions without needing every step laid out.
- Warm and patient-centered. You can explain complicated insurance information in a way that helps families feel informed and supported.
- Organized and dependable. You manage competing priorities, follow through, and catch issues before they become bigger problems.
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience in healthcare revenue cycle, insurance verification, patient financial coordination, or a related role.
- Experience with commercial insurance, HMOs, referrals, and prior authorizations.
- Comfort working with payer portals, EHR or practice management systems, and benefits verification tools.
- Strong communication skills and experience working with families, payers, and healthcare providers.
Especially Helpful
- Experience in specialty pediatric therapy (PT, OT, SLP), behavioral health or ABA care settings.
- Familiarity with California Medi-Cal, Kaiser, and delegated medical groups or IPAs.
- Experience working at an early-stage startup or growing healthcare organization.
- Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.
