PlaqueminesSummary We are seeking an Associate Process Engineer to join our growing team in Plaquemines, LA. In this role, you will provide technical support for plant processes, participate in root‑cause investigations, and help drive improvements in safety, quality, and production efficiency. The position involves preparing engineering documentation and assisting senior engineers with project execution. Ideal candidates will have a foundational understanding of chemical or process engineering principles and a commitment to operational excellence. This role includes periodic travel to regional facilities and project sites to collaborate with engineering teams and support field activities.
General Description Duties & Responsibilities
- Support process documentation such as PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances, equipment datasheets, and control narratives (aligned with typical process engineering deliverables).
- Support in redlining, modifying, and quality‑checking PFDs and P&IDs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with process changes.
- Support the Management of Change (MOC) process, consistent with project procedure.
- Perform process calculations, size equipment and piping, and evaluate process efficiency under senior engineer guidance.
- Support safety processes and hazard reviews; ensure adherence to LNG plant safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance LNG production efficiency and improve energy utilization.
- Analyze production data and test results to support troubleshooting and process optimization.
- Work with operations, maintenance, instrumentation, and project engineering teams to resolve issues and support continuous improvement.
- Support senior engineers during pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and initial startup activities, including procedure execution and data collection.
- Identify process deviations, analyze root causes, and support corrective actions with operations and maintenance teams.
Qualifications
Required experience
- One (1) to four (4) years’ experience working as an Engineer in a process plant environment would be a plus.
- Engineering graduates with a demonstrable passion to pursue a career in this discipline would also be considered.
- Oil and Gas experience is required, with preference in LNG applications, however, petrochemical, NGL, cryogenic natural gas processing, or other hydrocarbon processing experience may be acceptable
Required Education Bachelor’s degree in Process/Chemical or Petroleum Engineering.
Licensing & Certifications
- Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status.
- Must possess and maintain a state valid-issued driver's license in good standing.
