- Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Senior Manager – Cost Accounting, the Lead Cost Accountant will be collecting, analyzing, and monitoring costs of manufacturing and performing periodic variance analyses. A thorough understanding of inventory costing (standard & weighted average), cost allocation and flow through an ERP system would be the foundation upon which this position will be built from. An understanding of valuation management for excess, slow moving, and obsolete inventory, in addition to product changes, is key. This role is hands-on, working with Audit, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain and Production teams.
Duties to include (but not limited to):
- Heavy involvement in Oracle implementation and processes. Will be relied on as a Super User in all areas of cost accounting.
- Performing month-end cost accounting close activities
- Maintaining cost accounting system and cost ledger (ERP)
- Analyzing valuations and participate in inventory review meetings including obsolescence.
- Variance analysis - address and reduce root causes of variances as applicable.
- Maintain Cost source workbooks & Gross margin reports.
- Year-end inventory and monitor cycle counts.
- Compliance audits and process reviews.
- Respond to audit findings with corrective action plans.
- Other operations and related reports including revision control and work instructions.
- Assist with training and coaching of staff to improve performance of all aspects relating to the inventory tracking and reporting system.
- Projects and other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
A post-secondary education, with over five years of hands-on progressive working experience, at a senior level, in a manufacturing standard cost accounting and reporting role. Experience within the Technology manufacturing sector is considered a strong asset
Education and Experience:
- CPA designation (or currently pursuing)
- ERP (Oracle & GP) working knowledge of information flow through and data mining.
