We’re Undead Labs, the creators of the State of Decay franchise, with more than 10 million players worldwide. Now an independent studio, we’re bringing together an experienced team to build ambitious games and shape the next chapter of the franchise.
We value collaboration, ownership, and craftsmanship. Our developers work closely across disciplines, and every team member has the opportunity to influence the game, solve meaningful challenges, and help create experiences that players will remember. What You’ll Do
- Partner directly with engineers, designers, artists, and producers to understand features, identify risks, and build quality into development.
- Develop and execute testing strategies for assigned features and systems.
- Design, execute, and maintain test cases and test plans based on feature requirements and development needs.
- Perform functional, regression, exploratory, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Take ownership of assigned features and testing areas throughout their development lifecycle.
- Identify, reproduce, investigate, and clearly document defects using Jira/Xray or similar tools.
- Work closely with developers to investigate issues, provide actionable feedback, and help drive defects toward resolution.
- Validate fixes and perform targeted regression testing to ensure changes do not introduce new issues.
- Evaluate features from both a functional and player perspective, identifying issues that may impact usability, accessibility, balance, immersion, or overall player experience.
- Communicate testing progress, quality risks, blockers, and areas of concern clearly and proactively.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, bug triage, and other development team ceremonies as needed.
- Maintain accurate testing documentation and provide clear, timely status updates.
- Contribute to improving QA processes, tools, and practices across the team.
- Collaborate with Studio QA leadership to align feature-level testing with broader QA objectives and quality standards.
- Adapt testing approaches as features, priorities, and development needs evolve.
