Description
THE JOB
You’ll own the master production schedule for Tri Tool’s portable machining equipment: standard products built to stock, custom and engineered orders built to customer requirements, and repair work coming back from the field. You decide what gets built, when, and where, and you make sure the shop, Purchasing, and Sales are all working from the same plan. Our mix is high and our volumes are low, so the schedule changes every week. We need someone who keeps it realistic, gives customers ship dates we can hit, and sees problems coming before they become late orders.
IN YOUR FIRST 12 MONTHS, YOU WILL
- Take ownership of the master production schedule in NetSuite and make it the one plan the shop runs on.
- Clean up planning data (BOMs, routings, lead times, and safety stock) for our highest-volume standard products.
- Run a weekly production meeting with Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and Sales.
- Put on-time delivery and schedule adherence reporting in place, and improve both.
- Give Sales lead times and ship dates they can quote with confidence.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
- Master schedule. Balance customer orders, forecast, and stocking levels for standard products against real capacity.
- MRP and material. Run MRP, release work orders, and give Purchasing the time it needs to buy right.
- Capacity. Load CNC machining, assembly, and test. Spot bottlenecks early and recommend overtime, outsourcing, or resequencing.
- Shop floor priorities. Publish clear daily and weekly priorities so supervisors and machinists know what’s next.
- Ship dates. Commit dates to Sales and Customer Service, and tell them early when something moves.
- Planning data. Keep BOMs, routings, lead times, and planning parameters accurate so the system tells the truth.
Requirements
WHAT YOU BRING
- Current APICS (ASCM) certification. CPIM preferred; CSCP considered.
- 5+ years in production planning, scheduling, or master scheduling in manufacturing.
- Hands-on MPS, MRP, and capacity planning experience in an ERP system.
- Experience in high-mix, low-volume, make-to-order, or engineer-to-order manufacturing.
- Ability to read BOMs, routings, and engineering drawings.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Clear, direct communication with machinists, supervisors, buyers, engineers, and salespeople, and the confidence to make a priority call and stand behind it.
NICE TO HAVE
- NetSuite experience.
- Machining or CNC shop background.
- Experience with nuclear, aerospace, defense, or other regulated customers.
- Lean or continuous improvement experience.
- Degree in supply chain, operations, industrial engineering, or business.
WHY TRI TOOL
Your schedule is the plan the whole company works from. You’ll work closely with Operations leadership, have a real say in what gets built and when, and see the results every week in what ships out the door.
