Remote - International Hire ONLY | Contract Full-Time
About TNT Growth TNT Growth is a performance-driven growth marketing agency that embeds directly into our clients' businesses to produce measurable outcomes across paid media, creative strategy, and analytics. We drive impact! About the Role We are looking for a senior Conversion Tracking & API Engineer who can independently own complex, production-grade tracking across browser, server, CRM, and ad-platform APIs. You combine deep backend and data-integration expertise with a practical understanding of paid-media measurement and strong client-facing communication. This is not a tag-only or passive back-end role. You will work directly with Growth Managers, Client Success, client engineering teams, and external platforms. You will own the path from consented browser and session capture through forms and CRM lifecycle events, event processing, ad-platform delivery, diagnostics, reconciliation, and monitoring. If you can build reliable systems, prove that they work end to end, and explain them clearly to non-engineers, this role was designed for you. What You'll Do
- Strong Communication
- Proactively flagging implementation gaps, risks, and unverified assumptions before a campaign goes live - and separating confirmed root cause from a working hypothesis
- Writing implementation and QA summaries that a Growth Manager without an engineering background can read, understand, and act on
- Responding to questions in Slack within a reasonable window during working hours
- Asking a clarifying question rather than building the wrong thing for two days
- Conversion Tracking Architecture & Identity Design, build, and maintain client-side and server-side conversion tracking across Meta Pixel/CAPI, Google Ads API and Data Manager API, Enhanced Conversions and offline uploads, TikTok Events API, and other major platforms. Own signal design, event taxonomy, account and action routing, timestamps, value and currency, attribution windows, and accuracy from landing page to ad platform.
- CRM Integration & Event Pipeline Management Build and maintain integrations among client sites and forms, CRMs such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or Zoho, call-tracking and scheduling tools, TNT infrastructure, and ad-platform APIs. Use webhooks, change data capture, OAuth, and queues to deliver events with validation, idempotency, retries and backoff, dead-letter handling, replay and backfill, and a complete audit trail.
- Browser, Identity & Cross-Domain Instrumentation Implement and debug GTM, server-side GTM, Google tag and GA4, platform pixels, deterministic dataLayer events, first-party session IDs and cookies, URL propagation, and form injection across redirects, subdomains, SPAs, embedded forms, and booking tools. Preserve and validate GCLID, GBRAID, WBRAID, FBCLID, FBP, FBC, TTCLID, MSCLKID, UTMs, and consent state through the funnel.
- Ad-Platform API & Payload Engineering Build platform-correct payloads and matching logic: normalize and hash permitted identifiers exactly once, send consent signals, pair browser and server events with stable event or order IDs, prevent double counting, handle adjustments and redactions, diagnose partial acceptance and attribution-window failures, and improve match quality using platform diagnostics.
- End-to-End QA, Reconciliation & Production Operations Create synthetic tests that follow the real user journey from landing page through CRM and queue to the ad-platform UI. Reconcile source, database, CRM, internal reporting, and platform counts; monitor match quality, attribution lag, and delivery failures; produce evidence, alerts, runbooks, and incident updates; and verify fixes after launch.
- TypeScript Development Write clean, well-tested TypeScript across the stack, including API clients, webhook handlers, and event workers. Own engineering quality through automated tests, code review, documentation, and maintainability.
- Data Layer & Database Work Design and operate PostgreSQL schemas for attribution sessions, identities, conversion events, attempts, and delivery status. Write diagnostic SQL, optimize queries and indexes, plan retention, and trace data from ingestion through reporting without exposing sensitive data.
- AI-Assisted Development & Tooling Use AI systems (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, and others) as force multipliers for debugging, code generation, documentation, and pattern recognition. Validate generated work and never trade tracking correctness, security, or maintainability for speed.
- Cross-Functional Communication & Ownership Communicate clearly and proactively with Growth Managers, Client Success, client engineers, and platform support. Translate root cause, risk, evidence, dependencies, and ETA into updates non-engineers can act on. Own incidents through verification and follow-up, not just code deployment. Create reusable standards, runbooks, and guidance that raise the capability of the broader team.
- Version Control & Collaboration Own your work in Git. Strong branching strategy, meaningful commit history, clean PRs, and collaborative review habits. You treat version control as a professional practice, not a formality.
What We're Looking For Required
- Senior-level, hands-on production experience with complex conversion tracking across Meta Pixel/CAPI and Google Ads API or Data Manager API, including Enhanced Conversions and offline conversions; additional TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, or Reddit CAPI experience is strongly preferred
- Hands-on browser and server-side instrumentation with GTM, server-side GTM or equivalent, Google tag and GA4, deterministic dataLayer events, SPAs, redirects, cross-domain and subdomain flows, embedded forms, and booking tools
- Expertise in attribution identity and matchback: GCLID, GBRAID, WBRAID, FBCLID, FBP, FBC, TTCLID, MSCLKID, first-party session IDs, cookies or URL propagation, consent state, and CRM persistence
- Deep knowledge of ad-platform payload semantics, including event names, action source, account and action IDs, value and currency, timestamps and time zones, stable event or order IDs, browser and server deduplication, attribution windows, conversion adjustments or redactions, and partial-acceptance diagnostics
- Experience mapping CRM objects and lifecycle stages and integrating systems such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Attio, GoHighLevel, Typeform, or call-tracking platforms through webhooks, change data capture, and APIs
- Demonstrated ability to prove delivery end to end with synthetic tests, platform diagnostics, source, CRM, database, internal-reporting, and ad-platform reconciliation, match-quality monitoring, alerting, incident response, and written QA evidence
- Experience implementing consent-aware tracking and privacy controls under GDPR, CCPA, and ad-platform policies, including permitted PII collection, normalization and hashing exactly once, data minimization, and sensitive-category restrictions
- Strong understanding of API client design, REST and webhook integrations, OAuth and secrets handling, change data capture, rate limits, partial failures, and inter-service communication patterns
- Direct production experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, BullMQ, SQS, or similar), including idempotency, deduplication, retries and backoff, dead-letter handling, replay, and high-volume backfills
- Proficient in TypeScript - clean, typed, testable, and maintainable across API clients, services, and asynchronous workers
- Strong PostgreSQL and ORM fundamentals (Prisma, TypeORM, or equivalent), including diagnostic SQL, schema design, query and index optimization, and data retention
- Strong working knowledge of paid-media measurement: funnel and lifecycle event design, primary and secondary conversions, values, attribution windows, match quality, platform learning-volume tradeoffs, and channel differences across Meta, Google, TikTok, and related platforms
- Strong Git skills - branching, PR workflows, code review participation, and version control discipline
- Practical fluency with AI development tools and the judgment to validate their output; AI expertise is secondary to conversion tracking, API, and backend engineering depth
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English, including client-facing technical discovery, implementation documentation, incident updates, and evidence-based explanations
