SAP BTP & Cloud ERP Technical Lead

Introduction
We are seeking an experienced SAP BTP & Cloud ERP Technical Lead to own technical architecture and delivery for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition extensions, integrations, APIs, and user experiences.
This individual will lead solution design and development using SAP BTP and clean-core principles, ensuring scalability, security, maintainability, and alignment with SAP standards. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with responsibility for engineering standards, developer governance, production support, and release readiness.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Own technical architecture and standards for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition extensions and integrations.
• Select appropriate extensibility patterns, including ABAP Cloud, key-user extensibility, side-by-side BTP extensions, and API/event integrations.
• Lead ABAP Cloud development using RAP, CDS, OData, and released SAP APIs.
• Lead SAP BTP application and service development using CAP with Node.js and/or Java.
• Govern SAP Integration Suite, Cloud Integration, and API Management, including security, versioning, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Define SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, and Fiori elements architecture and user experience standards.
• Review solution designs and code for security, performance, maintainability, and clean-core compliance.
• Establish CI/CD, deployment, code quality, testing, and technical documentation standards.
• Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of production issues involving integrations, APIs, and custom applications.
• Partner with Security/IAM on authentication, certificates, connectivity, roles, and access controls.
• Assess SAP releases for API changes, deprecated interfaces, and regression testing requirements.
• Lead technical estimation, sprint planning, code reviews, and developer/vendor quality assurance.
• Establish monitoring, operational support procedures, and technical roadmaps to manage technical debt.
• Collaborate with SAP functional teams, Enterprise Architecture, DevOps, QA, Security, and business stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of SAP technical delivery experience, including S/4HANA architecture and development leadership.
• Strong SAP BTP architecture experience, including Cloud Foundry, connectivity, destinations, and security.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition extensibility and clean-core principles.
• Strong expertise in ABAP Cloud, RAP, CDS, OData, and released APIs.
• Experience with SAP CAP using Node.js and/or Java.
• Strong knowledge of SAP Integration Suite Cloud Integration and API Management.
• Experience with SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, and Fiori elements.
• Understanding of REST/OData APIs, event-driven integration, CI/CD, and secure development.
• Experience leading technical delivery, production support, and troubleshooting in cloud ERP environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and functional teams.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with SAP Event Mesh, HANA Cloud, SAP Build Process Automation, Kyma, or SAP Cloud ALM.
• Experience modernizing legacy custom code using clean-core extension patterns.
• SAP certifications related to BTP, Integration Suite, application development, or S/4HANA Cloud.
• Experience managing technical debt, deprecated services, and enterprise architecture governance.
• Experience leading distributed development teams or coordinating system integrator delivery.
