Summary
Fabrication Technician to handle tooling setup and machine operation for metal parts production. The role requires precision in measurement, adherence to safety and quality standards, and maintaining an organized work area. Experience with machine operation is required. Select proper dies and taps; as well as adjust clearances for dies and shears based on material requirement. Must be able to read and understand BluePrint and Bill Of Material. Set up tooling, load programs to produce a correct quality part and perform a quality inspection on the part based on the blueprint of the part. Determine the condition of the tools and point of re-sharpening or replacing. Keep the work area clean and organized in accordance with the supervisor. Follow all company rules and policies as well as safety and quality standards. Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task. Work with other team members to maximize productivity and efficiency. Read a tape measure up to 1/64 of an inch. Use various other measuring tools necessary to produce a quality part. Wear all personal protective equipment required in that area. Be at the assigned work station at the start of each shift and immediately following each break. Required Skills/Abilities: Must be able to operate the following machinery in a safe and efficient manner: CNC Turret Shear Brake Press Punch Press Tapper Ability to follow instructions. Ability to read, interpret, and follow product plans. Basic computer and math skills. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. At least one year of experience in metal fabrication or related work preferred. Physical Requirements: Work in a fast paced environment. Physically lift up to 50 lbs from floor level and occasionally slide material up to 200 lbs. Be able to safely clear jams from the machine. Work while standing for long periods of time. Verbally communicate with other workers and supervisors. Occasionally required to sit or walk.
