The CAD Operator produces fire sprinkler and/or fire alarm layouts using CAD Software for the Fire Protection Engineering department.

Your Opportunity
- Maintains project deadlines in accordance with the instructions given by the Product Quality Manager.
- Contacts owners/contractors/internal partners to retrieve pertinent information needed to complete CAD drawings.
- Retrieves or sends CAD information to TEC offices, contractors and/or customers.
- Retrieves CAD information from the database on projects sent by others.
- Sends out sprinkler piping layouts for reproducible vellums, large blueprint jobs, etc.
- Assists in the maintenance of engineering equipment such as the plotter.
- Complete calc cards/test certificates for inclusion with revised in-rack sprinkler plan issuance to contractor.
Your Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- Graduate of a technical institute with an Associates Degree in Applied Science;
- Regularly required to work at a computer workstation utilizing such equipment as a mouse, keyboard, and ruler/scale to accurately design CAD systems.
- Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment, have outstanding written and oral communication skills, and be self-motivated.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, such as plans, boxes, etc.
