- Ability to identify components accurately per BOM specifications and visual markings.
- Advanced hand-soldering skills (exceeding basic soldering capability) for both through-hole and surface-mount components.
- Experience setting up and operating automated assembly equipment (pick-and-place, wave/selective solder, reflow oven, AOI, or CNC machinery).
- Computer & ERP Skills:
- Intermediate computer proficiency; experience navigating company ERP/MRP systems, intranet portals, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), along with basic system troubleshooting ability.
- Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
- Ability to resolve practical problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Competencies for Success
- Quality & Workmanship: Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance with IPC quality standards; proactively detects defects and errors.
- Problem Solving: Identifies production and assembly discrepancies early, troubleshoots mechanical/solder issues, and collaborates effectively to develop solutions.
- Teamwork & Leadership: Balances team and individual duties, fosters a collaborative shop-floor culture, runs team meetings effectively, and shares knowledge through mentoring and training others.
- Oral & Written Communication: Communicates clearly with peers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams; reads and writes instructions, correspondence, and technical logs cleanly and accurately.
- Planning & Organization: Prioritizes daily tasks, manages assembly build times efficiently, and keeps materials and traveler packets organized.
