Job Title: Mechanic
Summary:
Taylor's Spring, Brake & Alignment is seeking a skilled mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain suspension, brake, steering, and alignment systems on passenger vehicles, light trucks, and heavy-duty vehicles. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment. Taylor's shop focuses on alignment, suspension, brake service, PM service, and custom U-bolt bending for a wide range of vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose steering, suspension, brake, and alignment problems.
- Perform wheel alignments and related front-end repairs.
- Inspect, repair, and replace brake, suspension, steering, and undercar components.
- Work on a variety of vehicles, including cars, pickup trucks, trailers, buses, and heavy-duty trucks.
- Use shop tools and alignment equipment safely and accurately.
- Communicate needed repairs clearly to service staff and customers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate should have their own basic tools. Specialized tools will be provided.
- Previous automotive or heavy-duty mechanic experience preferred.
- Knowledge of brake, suspension, steering, and alignment systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic and shop equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred) and ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- State Inspection License preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting.
- Ability to work in a shop environment around vehicles and equipment.
- Comfortable performing repetitive physical tasks as needed.
Work Hours:
Mon - Fri 8-5 PM
Hourly Wage Rate:
Based on experience.
