Veterans CareerBridge Program
Career readiness and personalized support for your next career step
Veterans CareerBridge is a no cost career development program powered by TalentBase. We help veterans, transitioning service members, military spouses, and eligible dependents prepare for civilian careers, build an individual career plan, and take action toward their goals.
Whether you are ready to find employment, interested in certification or advanced training, or want to pursue both, our team will help you identify your next steps and provide structured support.
How the Program Works
Phase 1 - Career Readiness
Three weeks
Build the skills, tools, and confidence to navigate your career transition. Topics include:
- Resume development and military experience translation
- Interview preparation using the STAR method
- Professional communication and workplace expectations
- Career exploration, networking, and goal setting
Sessions take place Monday through Thursday, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Pacific time. We will share upcoming cohort dates and participation details during enrollment.
Phase 2 - Individual Career Planning
Two weeks following Phase 1
Work with our team to create a career plan based on your interests, experience, qualifications, and goals.
Your plan may focus on finding employment, pursuing certification or advanced training, exploring internship opportunities, or combining pathways. You can pursue employment and training together when appropriate.
Together, we will identify your goal, practical action steps, available resources, and milestones. You will also know when your next phase of support begins and ends.
Phase 3 - Putting Your Career Plan into Action
Up to 90 calendar days
Move forward with your plan while receiving continued career support. Depending on your goals, assistance may include:
- Targeted job search reports
- Resume feedback and tailoring
- Mock interviews and interview preparation
- Certification guidance and training coordination
- Employer connections and work experience opportunities when available
- Career counseling and regular check ins
Our team will help you review progress, address barriers, and adjust your approach as needed. At the end of this phase, you will receive a summary of your progress and next steps to help you continue moving forward.
You may complete this phase earlier if you achieve your agreed goal or milestone and finish your final review.
Time Commitment and Graduation
The active program lasts approximately 18 weeks, including five weeks of readiness and planning followed by up to 90 days of support.
Phases 2 and 3 include scheduled check ins and activities you complete independently, based on your individual plan.
Graduation ceremonies take place twice each year, in spring and fall. Your program completion date follows your individual timeline. You do not need to wait for a ceremony to complete the program, and the ceremony schedule does not extend your active support period.
What You Can Expect
You will receive career readiness training, an Individual Career Plan, a defined period of career support, regular progress reviews, and a final summary of your next steps.
Employment, interviews, internships, wages, and placement are not guaranteed. Employers make their own hiring decisions. Certification and exam assistance depend on eligibility, program approval, and available funding, and exam passage is not guaranteed.
Cost and Compensation
Participation is free. This listing is for a career development program, not a paid position or an offer of employment. Compensation for any employment or internship opportunity depends on the employer and the specific opportunity.
