Key Responsibilities
- Convert mechanical blueprints, engineering drawings, take-off sheets, and CAD/DXF files into CNC fabrication programs.
- Develop and maintain cutting programs, nesting layouts, and bend sequences using Amada 4iE, AP100, or equivalent CAD/CAM software.
- Select appropriate laser configurations, punch tooling, and press brake punches and dies based on material specifications.
- Calculate and input accurate dimensions, bend allowances, radii, and material thicknesses.
- Optimize sheet metal nesting to maximize material utilization and minimize scrap.
- Verify material specifications, including galvanized steel, galvanneal, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Simulate CNC programs to identify collisions, tooling interference, and potential production issues.
- Troubleshoot programming errors and support first-piece inspections.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production Planning, and shop floor supervisors to ensure accurate and timely production.
- Maintain program revisions, tooling libraries, machine parameters, and technical documentation.
- Support the implementation of new Amada equipment, software, and programming processes.
