STgenetics is seeking an organized, optimistic, and motivated Sales & Marketing Intern to join our Inside Sales team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to develop professional sales, communication, event marketing, and content creation skills while gaining hands-on experience in the livestock genetics industry.
The selected candidate will work closely with sales and marketing professionals to build relationships with producers and breeders, support marketing initiatives, conduct market research, and represent STgenetics at industry events. This role is ideal for someone looking to expand their business, marketing, and sales experience in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Acquire, maintain, and enter new customer information into the company’s customer relationship management (CRM) database.
· Conduct outbound sales calls to prospective customers across the United States to generate interest and build relationships.
· Collaborate with sales and marketing team members to create internal and external marketing materials, including e-newsletters, direct mail campaigns, customer testimonials, and promotional content.
· Perform market research to evaluate industry trends, competitor activities, and potential business opportunities.
· Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing marketing initiatives and campaigns.
· Represent STgenetics at industry events, breed conventions, trade shows, and exhibitions throughout the summer.
· Support additional sales and marketing projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present information.
· Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
· Positive attitude, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
· Ability to travel and participate in industry events as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience or coursework in Marketing, Communications, Business, Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field.
· Familiarity with livestock, dairy, beef, or agricultural industries.
· Graphic design experience and proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud products is a plus.
· Creative mindset with enthusiasm for new ideas and projects.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
· Ability to travel and attend trade shows, conventions, and industry events.
· Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds.
