The Electric Drive System (EDS) Design Engineer is responsible for the EDS’ overall Design and its components (e.g., Gearbox, Electric Machines, Power Inverter Module, etc.), Manufacturing, and Assembly for automotive electrification applications. This role includes the development of the Electrical, Mechanical, with extensive Thermal Management designs and specification of different EDSs for all types of Electrified Propulsions (LV/HV for MHEVs, PHEVs, and BEVs). This includes development of different CFD models (1D, 2D, 3D, etc.) and further development of EDS design process/methodologies. The engineer would run trade of studies, evaluate design proposals and recommend best technical EDS design. Also, this role will provide technical assistance to other EDS Core functional teams related to all Design Aspects. The Engineer will coordinate Simulation and dyno test activities. He/she will stay abreast of new EDS technology including Benchmarking and Lead the EDS Design activities and its subcomponents development. The Engineer will participate in EDS technical roadmap and develop different EDS design concepts to meet vehicle requirements.
