Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry required.
- Strong understanding of analytical testing, laboratory procedures, and quality control processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of quality control or laboratory experience within the cosmetics industry required.
- Experience performing chemical and physical analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Ability to operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a process manufacturing environment with moderate noise and forklift traffic.
- Able to maintain attention to detail while managing multiple priorities.
Job Duties
- Perform chemical and physical testing of manufacturing samples, raw materials, and finished goods to ensure compliance with established specifications.
- Operate laboratory instrumentation and troubleshoot equipment issues as needed.
- Maintain testing standards, retain samples, and assist with sample retention programs.
- Perform instrument calibration and help ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained and supplied.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, logbooks, reports, and electronic files.
- Initiate Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations and assist with consumer complaint testing when required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance laboratory processes and product quality.
- Collaborate with chemical vendors, production teams, and management to resolve testing discrepancies and quality concerns.
- Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards while maintaining an organized laboratory environment.
