As a Wire Cutter, you’ll play a key role in manufacturing high-quality cable and wire assemblies. This position involves setting up and operating wire cutting equipment, inspecting products for accuracy, performing basic machine maintenance, and supporting efficient production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial.
Experience Requirements
- Previous machine operation experience required.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills preferred.
- Experience working with wire processing or wire cutting equipment is a plus.
- Ability to read a ruler to 1/64″ and convert fractions to decimals.
Job Duties
- Set up and operate wire cutting and stripping machines according to job specifications.
- Review cut sheets and job orders to ensure accurate production.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Inspect finished products to verify quality and compliance with specifications.
- Minimize material waste through proper machine setup and operation.
- Communicate equipment or production issues to supervisors.
- Use manual tools to cut and strip wire and cable as needed.
- Assist with additional production tasks as assigned.
Physical Capabilities
- Lift and move wire spools and materials up to 70 pounds.
- Stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Maintain a fast-paced production workflow.
- Demonstrate strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to distinguish colors and read small print accurately.
