St. Mary School - Edgerton, Ohio St. Mary School is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, parishioners, and visitors. Position Details - Hours: Approximately 22--23 hours per week - Schedule: Weekday afternoons - Location: St. Mary School, 314 S. Locust Street, Edgerton, Ohio - Seasonal Duties: Deep cleaning during the summer months to prepare for the upcoming school year ## ### School Cleaning - Daily from approximately 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm on school days. Daily Duties - Clean and sanitize boys', girls', and staff restrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, partitions, and mirrors. - Replenish toilet paper, paper towels, and soap. - Sweep or vacuum all floors, including classrooms, hallways, stairways, and carpeted areas. - Remove garbage and transport it to the designated dumpster. - Clean and sanitize drinking fountains and the basement sink. - Turn off lights and ensure all school doors are secure before leaving. Weekly Duties - Wet mop all hard-surface floors, including classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and basement areas. - Clean and sanitize library tables. - Dust furniture, shelves, cabinets, window sills, lockers, radiators, and other surfaces; remove cobwebs as needed. - Pick up litter around the exterior of the building and empty the playground trash can. - Clear exterior stairwells of debris and check drains for leaves or ice. - Sweep the sidewalk at the main entrance as needed. - Wipe down pipes beneath sinks. - Clean glass in main entrance and exit doors. - Keep the maintenance closet clean and organized. Periodic and As-Needed Duties - Wipe down locker fronts and handles. - Dust exposed pipes in classrooms and the unfinished basement. - Clean walls and remove scuff marks. - Notify office staff when cleaning supplies need to be reordered. - Help keep sidewalks and walkways clear of snow and ice. - Complete summer deep cleaning, coordinating work around scheduled floor stripping and waxing. ### ### Cafeteria Cleaning - Daily from approximately 12:30-2:00 pm on school days. Daily Duties - Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, partitions, and mirrors. - Replenish toilet paper, paper towels, and soap. - Sweep floors in the kitchen, dining area, entryways, and restrooms. - Clean and sanitize cafeteria tables and drinking fountains. - Remove garbage and transport it to the designated dumpster. - Spot mop kitchen and dining area floors as needed. Weekly Duties - Place trash and recycling at the curb according to the collection schedule. - Thoroughly mop cafeteria floors, including the kitchen, restrooms, and entryways. - Clean kitchen rubber mats. - Remove debris from exterior stairwells. - Clean glass in main entrance and exit doors.
