Summary We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable individual to serve as a Substitute Teacher. The ideal candidate will step into various classrooms to provide instruction and maintain a positive learning environment in the absence of the regular teacher. Responsibilities
- Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive and respectful learning environment.
- Engage students in learning activities and encourage participation.
- Provide clear instructions and support to students in understanding assignments and tasks.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, breaks, and transitions.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents as necessary.
- Report any issues or concerns regarding student behavior or academic performance to the appropriate staff.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and other necessary documentation.
- Adapt to various classroom settings and student needs across different subjects and grade levels.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in education or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and classroom dynamics.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude toward teaching and learning.
- Basic understanding of classroom management techniques.
- Ability to follow instructions and lesson plans accurately.
- Must pass background checks and comply with all school district policies and regulations.
- Certification or licensure in education is required, emergency or regular.
