Sofidel America is seeking a Yard Spotter Driver to join our team in Duncan, South Carolina. We are looking for a dependable, safety-focused individual to support our warehouse, shipping, and production operations by safely moving trailers throughout our facility.
This position plays a vital role in maintaining the efficient flow of raw materials and finished goods while ensuring safe yard operations. A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is not required, as all trailer movements occur on company property.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely move trailers containing raw materials and finished goods between buildings, dock doors, and designated yard locations.
- Position trailers for loading and unloading at warehouse and production docks.
- Perform daily safety inspections of trailers, yard tractors, and related equipment before operation.
- Coordinate trailer movement with warehouse, shipping, logistics, and production teams to support efficient operations.
- Monitor yard traffic and trailer locations to ensure safe and organized yard operations.
- Connect and disconnect tractors and trailers safely when moving or staging equipment.
- Back trailers into dock doors and staging areas, including tight spaces, while maintaining safe operating practices.
- Follow all facility traffic patterns, company safety policies, and operational procedures.
- Maintain accurate trailer movement records and communicate trailer status with transportation and warehouse personnel.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, accidents, or operational delays to supervisors immediately.
- Support warehouse, shipping, and production operations as needed to maintain workflow and production schedules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- CDL is not required, as all trailer movements occur on company property.
- Previous experience operating a yard truck, spotter truck, forklift, or similar industrial equipment preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, or logistics environment preferred.
- Ability to safely maneuver trailers in tight spaces and around dock areas.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Work Environment
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in designated plant and warehouse areas, including safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, reflective vest, hairnet or hat, and any other required protective equipment.
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.
- Regular exposure to moving equipment, trailer traffic, paper dust, and elevated noise levels requiring hearing protection.
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing in and out of equipment, bending, and safely operating yard vehicles throughout the shift.
- Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while following all company safety policies and procedures.
