About Slingshot Biosciences
Location: 100% onsite in Emeryville, CA.
This role reports to the Manager, Manufacturing & Technology Transfer.
Responsibilities
- ERP, Fulfillment & Logistics: Maintain ERP data integrity within NetSuite, including item masters, lead times, and inventory dashboards. Oversee end-to-end domestic and international logistics by managing freight forwarders and 3PLs to balance transit speed and landed costs while ensuring customs and trade compliance.
- Inventory & Space Management: Direct comprehensive inventory management and physical upkeep across R&D and production laboratory spaces. Establish replenishment parameters (Min/Max, Reorder Points), manage surplus and shelf life, oversee incoming shipments with accurate logging and QC distribution, and coordinate lab custodial standards.
- Procurement & Sourcing: Lead procurement initiatives by identifying, evaluating, and onboarding secondary suppliers for critical path materials. Consolidate spot purchases into master supply agreements to secure volume pricing, and enforce standard procurement workflows from timely PO creation through 3-way invoice matching and stale PO closures.
- Product Manufacturing: Support production efforts with hands-on benchwork as needed to meet production schedules. Execute batch records, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Maintain documentation standards and quality specifications required by the Quality Management System.
- Administrative Support & Logistics: Maintain office space inventory, incoming mail and package distribution. Oversee end-to-end domestic and international order fulfillment and logistics, coordinating pick, pack, and ship workflows.
Qualifications
- Must have hands-on experience maintaining ERP systems (preferably NetSuite) and building operational dashboards for inventory, purchasing, and supply chain metrics.
- B.S. in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field with 3+ years of experience managing laboratory operations, inventory, or materials in a regulated biotech or production environment.
- Hands-on laboratory and production execution experience (e.g., reagent preparation, cell handling, or assay workflows and operation of automated liquid handlers).
- Demonstrated vendor management expertise with proven ability to negotiate contracts, establish blanket purchase orders, and build secondary sourcing pipelines.
- Nice to have - working knowledge of laboratory EHS regulations, chemical hygiene standards, hazardous waste management, and equipment calibration oversight. Ability to routinely lift up to 30 lbs and handle cold-storage materials.
Impact of This Role
- Drive transformative working capital efficiency and operational stability by securing reliable supply chains and resolving inbound pipeline risks, material shortages, and customs/logistics delays before they disrupt operations.
- Establish a scalable, highly visible procurement and inventory infrastructure that directly empowers our R&D and manufacturing teams to innovate and reliably deliver precision-engineered cell mimics.
