Compensation: $65-$75/hr DOE
About the Opportunity:
Saratech is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support our client in the design, development, analysis, and validation of complex mechanical systems and structures. The ideal candidate will leverage 3D parametric CAD, rapid prototyping, and other engineering tools to develop innovative solutions while producing technical drawings, procedures, and supporting documentation that define designs for manufacturing and integration.
Job Overview:
The Mechanical Design Engineer will provide engineering support for aircraft mechanical systems on a large-scale commercial aircraft derivative program. This role involves developing and validating mechanical designs, creating engineering documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, quality, and manufacturability requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical engineering and design activities for aircraft mechanical systems and structures.
- Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using NX CAD.
- Create, review, and release engineering documentation in accordance with program requirements.
- Support design analysis, testing, and validation activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, stress analysis, and systems engineering.
- Evaluate and resolve engineering design issues throughout the product lifecycle.
- Ensure designs meet applicable performance, manufacturability, and quality requirements.
- Must be very proficient in the latest version of NX CAD.
- Must understand design principles and GD&T for part manufacturing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant mechanical design experience.
- Aircraft experience is required.
- Experience with airframe primary and secondary structures is a plus.
- Working knowledge of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and configuration control.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
