We are currently recruiting for the position of Yard Spotter.
6:00am - 6:00pm
The tasks and responsibilities required of the Yard Spotter are outlined below:
- Must be able to follow all DOT rules and regulations.
- Must be able to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers.
- Must properly update the Yard Management System (YMS)to clearly show all trailer moves throughout the shift.
- Must be able to perform minor repairs to trucks/trailers.
- Must be able to add fluids to keep trucks maintained.
- Fuel trucks as needed on the yard.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with other drivers.
- Must be able to clearly communicate problems with equipment to the fleet mechanic.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Must be able to work effectively with other departments within the company.
Qualifications
The skills and qualifications required for the Yard Spotter are outlined below:
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Three to seven years related experience
- Accuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Communication, Written - Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely.
- Customer Oriented - Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures.
- Honesty / Integrity - Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.
- Safety Awareness - Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.
- Working Under Pressure - Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
