Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) – BSA/AML/OFAC Intern Make an Impact. Build Your Skills. Launch Your Career. Are you curious about how banks help stop fraud, combat money laundering, and protect customers from financial crime? Looking for a summer internship that goes beyond busy work and gives you meaningful, real-world experience? The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) Internship offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside professionals who help safeguard the integrity of the financial system every day. You'll gain hands-on exposure to financial crimes compliance, develop highly transferable business skills, and build a strong foundation for future careers in banking, finance, compliance, risk management, law, investigations, and related fields. Primary Objective The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) coordinates the day-to-day implementation of the bank's enterprise-wide financial crime prevention efforts. The FIU includes several legal and compliance disciplines and is responsible for the governance, oversight, and execution of Rockland Trust's Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) programs. These programs play a critical role in protecting our customers, the bank, the U.S. financial system, and our communities from individuals and organizations that seek to use financial institutions for criminal activity. The FIU also develops and supports policies and procedures that help business units know their customers, perform appropriate due diligence, and identify and report potentially suspicious activity. As an FIU BSA/AML/OFAC Intern, you'll gain firsthand insight into how a modern financial institution detects, investigates, and helps prevent financial crime. You'll collaborate with experienced professionals, participate in meaningful work, and contribute to the team's daily operations while strengthening your analytical, research, and problem-solving skills. In addition to your day-to-day responsibilities, you'll participate in collaborative summer intern projects. This internship is designed to help you learn, grow, and gain valuable experience that will set you up for future career success. By the end of the summer, you'll have developed practical skills, expanded your professional network, and gained exposure to an important and rapidly growing area of the financial services industry.
